News update, Remember back when Maria Sharapova had the MOTO PEBL in her hands (See here), well now Maria Sharapova the tennis beauty has said goodbye to MOTO and says hello to Sony Ericsson. Oh yes Sony Ericsson gets sexy Maria Sharapova as new global brand ambassador.

Sony Ericsson has announced today that they have signed a four year sponsorship agreement with female tennis player Maria Sharapova, this will make her the first global brand ambassador for SE.Maria Sharapova who will be 21 come April this year will be doing new consumer brand campaigns and will also be working with Sony Ericsson’s design team on a brand new range of products and accessories.

Looks like Sony Ericsson are going to give us more Sporting products, So you get Sony Ericsson with Maria Sharapova oh we are in heaven. We must say at this given time the extent of her involvement hasn’t been disclosed.

Maria Sharapova Biography And Pictures

Maria Sharapova was born on April 19, 1987, in Nyagan, a town in the Siberian region of Russia. In 1989, the family moved to the Black Sea resort town of Sochi.

When she was 4 years old, a chance encounter changed her life. She met with the father of tennis champion Yevgeny Kafelnikov, and the man gave her a racket. From that moment, she started hitting tennis balls, and the game soon became a passion for her.

Two years later, she was performing at a tennis clinic when another tennis champion changed her life: Martina Navratilova was in the building and she was flabbergasted by the talent of the 6-year-old. She went to her father, Yuri, and recommended that he take his daughter to the world-famous Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida.

Life happens when you are not on the court ALL the time. Blogs are reporting that Maria Sharapova dates Charlie Ebersol, the son of NBC sports chairman Dick Ebersol and actress Susan Saint James. According to New York Daily News, Sharapova joked that “my boyfriend will probably outbid you” before putting herself up for auction at the Bryan Brothers’ All-Star Tennis Smash charity event last weekend. However, one lucky guy won a date with the Russian tennis star - for $10,000. Charlie first received media attention when he and his father survived a 2004 charter plane crash that took the lives of two crew members and Charlie’s younger brother. Since then, Charlie has become a film producer, collaborating with Ashton Kutcher on the documentary Ithuteng (Never Stop Learning). The film debutes on HBO on Dec. 3.
