Christian Dannemann Eriksen (born 14 February 1992 in Middelfart) is a Danish professional football player, currently playing as an attacking midfielder for Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam. He previously played for Odense Boldklub, and was named 2008 Danish U-17 Talent of the Year, before signing for Ajax in October 2008. He made his debut for the Danish national team in March 2010, and was the youngest player of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. He has been nominated to win the 2010 Danish "Talent of the Year" award.
Christian Eriksen started playing football in his hometown Middelfart before his third birthday. In 2005 he switched to Odense Boldklub (OB), who competed in the Danish youth championships. His team lost the semi-final against Brøndby IF, but afterwards he was named "Best Technical Player" of the tournament. The following year OB won the tournament, when Eriksen scored the only goal in the final. After some good performances for OB's U-16 team and later on U-19 team and the Danish U-17 team, major European football clubs including Chelsea and Barcelona began to take notice.
According to Algemeen Dagblad, AC Milan prepares to bid to recruit young Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Christian Eriksen. Eriksen become one of the Ajax players mainstay since its debut in January 2010. Danish teenagers aged 18 this year brought in Ajax from Odense in 2008. For coach Frank de Boer, Eriksen could match the quality of alumni Ajax, Wesley Sneijder.
Milan have not made a formal offer, but predicted a top Italian club's transfer proposal was worth € 11 million. Ajax unlikely willing to release this winter Eriksen. Moreover Eriksen contract is still ongoing until summer 2014. However, it did not rule out Ajax yield to the temptation of fresh funds which flourished Milan.
